Today I came across this article about a rising number of Snowy Owls in the lower 48 states. These birds are usually only seen in America during the winter months, but now bird enthusiasts are saying that more owls are breeding in our northern states. This is most likely because of the decrease of lemmings, the birds' main food.
I have never seen one of these owls, but maybe I have a chance of seeing one in Colorado! To read the full article, go to http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46180562/ns/us_news-environment/.
